A destination wedding turns one day into a shared journey. Instead of a five-hour reception, your guests spend three or four days with you: welcome dinner, the wedding, farewell brunch and free time between events. It is the difference between attending a celebration and living an experience — and it is why couples who choose this format rarely would change it.

About Yucatán

Why Yucatán

The state of Yucatán offers the cultural alternative to a beach wedding: colonial haciendas, underground cenotes, magical towns and a culinary tradition with Mayan and Lebanese roots that produces menus impossible to replicate elsewhere. The distance to the coast — Progreso is 35 minutes from Mérida — also lets you combine hacienda and sea in a single wedding weekend.

  • 01Private colonial haciendas of dozens of hectares with their own chapels
  • 02Underground cenotes for symbolic ceremonies and photo sessions
  • 03Yucatecan cuisine with Mayan and Lebanese roots for genuinely local menus
  • 04The option to combine hacienda and coast (Progreso) in one weekend
  • 05Lower production costs than the Quintana Roo coast at the same quality level
Best time of year

November through March is the recommended window. The region is notably drier than the Caribbean coast, which reduces rain risk for outdoor events.

Frequently asked questions

Destination Weddings — Yucatán

How many guests typically attend a destination wedding?

Between 50% and 70% of the original list. That's normal and expected — we plan the budget on actual confirmations, not on invitations sent.

Is it more expensive than a traditional wedding?

Usually not. With a smaller guest list, the total cost tends to be comparable to or lower than a local wedding at the same level, with a significantly more memorable experience.

What is there for guests to do between events?

It depends on the destination: reef snorkeling, cenotes, archaeological sites, food tours or simply the beach. We prepare a welcome guide with recommendations to share with your group.

Who coordinates on the day of the event?

Our full team. You have a dedicated coordinator plus the production staff required for the scale of the event.

When is the best time of year to marry in Yucatán?

November through March is the recommended window. The region is notably drier than the Caribbean coast, which reduces rain risk for outdoor events.
