A destination wedding turns one day into a shared journey. Instead of a five-hour reception, your guests spend three or four days with you: welcome dinner, the wedding, farewell brunch and free time between events. It is the difference between attending a celebration and living an experience — and it is why couples who choose this format rarely would change it.

About Mérida

Why Mérida

Mérida and its surroundings hold the 17th- and 18th-century henequen haciendas: estates of dozens of hectares with a main house, chapel, machine house and century-old gardens. Restored as private properties, they offer something no beach venue can — architecture with history, twenty-meter ceilings, stone arches and a scale that makes a 150-guest wedding feel intimate. The city is also recognized as one of Mexico's safest.

  • 01Restored 17th- and 18th-century henequen haciendas with their own chapels
  • 02Monumental colonial architecture: stone arches and twenty-meter ceilings
  • 03One of Mexico's safest cities according to national indices
  • 04Internationally recognized Yucatecan cuisine for chef-driven menus
  • 05Cenotes and archaeological sites (Uxmal, Chichén Itzá) for guest excursions
Best time of year

November through March, when temperatures drop to 72–82 °F. Between April and June heat can exceed 100 °F, which makes daytime outdoor events impractical — for those dates, sunset ceremony and covered reception.

Frequently asked questions

Destination Weddings — Mérida

How many guests typically attend a destination wedding?

Between 50% and 70% of the original list. That's normal and expected — we plan the budget on actual confirmations, not on invitations sent.

Is it more expensive than a traditional wedding?

Usually not. With a smaller guest list, the total cost tends to be comparable to or lower than a local wedding at the same level, with a significantly more memorable experience.

What is there for guests to do between events?

It depends on the destination: reef snorkeling, cenotes, archaeological sites, food tours or simply the beach. We prepare a welcome guide with recommendations to share with your group.

Who coordinates on the day of the event?

Our full team. You have a dedicated coordinator plus the production staff required for the scale of the event.

When is the best time of year to marry in Mérida?

November through March, when temperatures drop to 72–82 °F. Between April and June heat can exceed 100 °F, which makes daytime outdoor events impractical — for those dates, sunset ceremony and covered reception.

Which airport should my guests fly into for Mérida?
